Scratched screen

I have a scratch that is 1/2" or so across my watch screen. Since it's plastic, I assumed that it could be buffed out. I took it to a watchmaker but he said he could not repair a touchscreen and suggested that I contact Huawei. Has anyone else scratched their screen and how did you get it repaired or replaced?

the screen is not plastic, it is glass, sapphire crystal glass
