Scratches on display

I haven't been using a screen protecter on my lg g8 on part because the slight curve makes it difficult to adhere a la galaxy phones. I've recently acquired some wonderful scratches on my display. They are irksome sometimes and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to mitigate the affect. At the very least a film screen protecter would prevent further damage. Would it make the display look better at all? Any installation tips to prevent bubbles?

The adhesive has to be of the same refractive index as the glass if the scratches are to disappear, and that used on film protectors is not. Any improvement in appearance would only be partial.

Any suggestions for a particular brand or type of protective screen covering that would work?
