I want to force my Note 3 screen to be always on so I could see the widget on home screen that shows new coming message afar when I put my Note 3 on desk. Would that cause screen damage in the long run if I do that everyday as long as I am in office?

I wouldn't recommend leaving on the home screen alone. IIRC the Note should (briefly) turn on when messages arrive. Alternatively, you could leave on with a scrolling picture app. Obviously in an office, you'll have access to a charger.

You don't want to leave any static image on the screen for many hours at a time like that or they can get burned into your screen. So if you want to do this then at the least have an active live wallpaper. Also remove from the home screen any app icons. You will still have to worry about the outline of the message widget. I would move that into different areas of the screen every hour or two.

How about an app that mimics the Moto X Active Display? I know there are a couple in Play that do this.
