Screen auto rotate VERY slow!

I know android phones have never been super smooth or fast when it comes to screen auto rotate, but this is crazy. From the browser to even the picture gallery, it takes at least a good 2-3 seconds and up to 5 seconds in some extreme cases. Anyone else having this issue?

Yes. Most other Android devices I've used in the past have done this quite well. I haven't figured out a fix for it. Maybe a software issue, but I'm guessing the best for this would be to root, which I have yet to do.

It's fairly sure it is something at the OS level. If we bug Google enough about it I'd bet they could fix it

its possible. they have not really released a list of foxes that are comming with it. well at least not a comprehensive list.

ill agree, although i actually just turned it off cause i hate laying down and having it go to landscape mode. The times i did notice it i thought it was already turned off cause it took so long

I wish there was an option for only allowing screen rotating when view either photos, browser, or videos. All other times it gets locked portrait

I noticed this in the store when I was playing with it. Ridiculously slow rotation!!

Most everything on this phone is blazing fast - screen rotation is an exception. Definitely a huge issue that needs to be addressed for this to be cutting edge software.

I'm completely new to touchscreen phones and I have a short fuse towards little things like this. I get so pissed when it takes 4-5 seconds to rotate.

Just a thought for a soluion to this bug. Start your task in the correct oreintation. Save a couple seconds that way until a real solution.

I havent noticed sluggish rotation on mine.. infact to test it real quick I just did a few screen rotates with the browser on this thread.. takes less then a second.

It's really on/off for me. Sometimes it will be quick, but other times it will irritate me beyond belief with how slow it is.

I've noticed this problem also and it seems the worst with Youtube. Sometimes with Youtube it just seems to never rotate until you go back and forth between portrait and landscape.

I've also noticed the slow rotation in a few places, but seems a bit sporadic on mine as well. Viewing pics in the gallery seems pretty "normal" on the rotation, but I would definitely say that in the browser it's the worst.

I saw this issue as well, when I was handling the demo unit in the store, at 2 different stores on 2 different occasions.
