Pixel 6 Pro here. I have always on display turned off. I don't light up the screen for new notifications and yet randomly the screen will briefly light up to show the clock. I don't even have to touch the phone for this to happen just move on the couch with the phone sitting beside me. Anyone else notice this? What's going on?

Do you have this turned on if so maybe why? Just a guess.

It's very strange. I have the phone sitting at my desk, if I just gently move it from one side of the desk to the other with my fingers the screen will briefly light up. I wonder if it's the case pressing the button?

How about the Lift to check phone option?

Also off. Just have tap to check phone I turned that off too to check, same issue. As soon as I lift the phone the screen will go on (I don't touch the display when I lift I just gingerly raise the phone slightly by the sides. Also happens with no case on.

Perhaps you have "lift to check phone" in gestures turned on..... nevermind

I checked there as well, turned off. This is pretty annoying. It doesn't happen all the time, wonder if a sensor is malfunctioning or something. Would a phone reset help? Really don't want to go that extreme.

Just to be clear it's not the entire screen turning on, just the "always on display" feature that shows the clock, any notifications and the fingerprint, so I guess it shouldn't be a battery concern as the screen comes on for a few seconds and then turns off. Just annoyed.

Your phone just wants to talk with you and doesn't like being ignored hint hint use me. Good luck. Hopefully you find your result

Google helped me figure out the issue! It's the damn screen protector accidentally setting off the fingerprint reader. When I disable all fingerprints and only use pin lock, no issue at all.

So DO NOT buy the Spigen screen protector this one : https://www.spigen.com/products/pixel-6-pro-screen-protector-neo-flex

I'm literally having the exact same issue. At random the always on display will light up with zero movement of the phone or me.

Pretty sure I have the Spigen screen protector also. Must be the issue.
