Why does my screen brightness keep reverting to 50% brightness even after i manually set it to 0%?

Settings -> Display -> Adaptive Brightness is the likely culprit.

It was super annoying for me at first. When I went to the adaptive brightness it said to continue to to set it where you want until it remembers. Mine now is starting to learn.

Also remember, the linearity of the control has been changed. "In the center" is now around 25%.

Yeah i guess I'll just keep setting it and hopefully it'll get better. I wish there was just an ambient light mode like the old days. Adaptive brightness is unnecessarily confusing.
