Screen Brightness Outdors

I have a droid maxx. When out doors on a sunny day with an incoming call the screen starts out dim and i cannot see who is calling. Is there a setting adjust the brightness on an incoming call?

Have you been to Settings / display? Other than an app, that's all you can do.

AMOLED screens rock. Except outdoors or in bright lighting conditions! Unfortunately that seems to be one of the few deficits of these new screens.
