Screen Brightness Threshold

Comparing to my 6S Plus and Moto X Pure, the Note 5 screen looks much dimmer on auto brightness. On the 6s Plus (and I think MXP), I can keep auto brightness on but still adjust the level. On the Note 5, adjusting the level turns off auto brightness.

Is there a way to adjust brightness, but keep auto brightness on?

Maybe a third-party app but not with the stock shade widget.

Did you sold this?

I'm using Lux Auto Brightness. It works great. You can set profiles and stuff like that. Very happy with it.
