I have a Galaxy S9 phone and the Screen Display Timeout setting is 30 seconds which is the default setting. I read that AMOLED screens can have screen burns. I feel that the 30 seconds Screen Display Timeout is too short especially when reading long articles or documents on the phone.

Would a setting of 1 minute should be fine? Would the 1 minute timeout setting cause screen burns?

i have set my screen duration to two minutes since my very first android and never had that issue.

There is a setting you can enable to make the screen stay on as long as you are looking at it.
Settings, advanced features, motions and gestures, smart stay.

Is it fine if I set the Screen Display Timeout to one minute? Would this cause any screen or image burns?

30 seconds is just too short.

Smart Stay is the answer. Perfect solution. Mine timeouts after 15sec if I'm not looking at it.

Thank you for the suggestion on Smart Stay, but I don't want to use it at the moment.
Just to confirm, If I set the Screen Display Timeout to one minute, will this cause the screen to have screen burn?

no, absolutely not. as said i have mine set to two minutes ever since my first Samsung s3 device

+ lock screen immediately when using power off button to lock

Mine is set for 5 minutes, and wasn't an issue on my S8 that I had for a year and a half. I've only had the S9 for a couple of months, but it's the same screen.

My son's S8 did get a bad burn-in, but it was from a game that he would play for hours.

afaik, youtube when paused will allow the screen to dim.. only when playing, screen won't dim, but i slept in several times with yt playing and in the morning, screen was dimmed/off and YouTube gave me the message 'autoplay disabled'
