Not sure what to tell you...others here indicate they use the "Power-Home" combo. I believe that the iPhone has the same combo.

Dude, yes it is that way on the HOX, but this is the Vivid, for which I am currently using. The Vivid's method for a screen grab is power and home. Of course, it might be different if you are rooted, which you are. That is the method for locked and bone stock users.

Even when I was a noob with this phone, that's what did it. I've tampered with several because I was double checking to make sure I was right and I was, I even took hold of a friend's Vivid, and she doesn't even know what Root even means. -_- But I grabbed her stock, unrooted, ICS, locked, not relocked, bootloader Vivid and pressed Powe and Volume down at the same time and it took a screenshot. Just for the hell of it, I'll make a video tomorrow and post it. Can't I do that?

Yes, that is how it is in stock Android, but that doesn't work on the Vivid.

Well, I'll be...Power and Volume down DOES work! The important piece of info that was left out was to hold the key press combination for the 2-3 seconds. That's easier than Power-Home because you had to get that combo just right. Interesting...

I switched to this phone from an iPhone3gs and this is so much better and both methods have worked for me but I noticed that when you use the "Power-Home" option, you get a shutter sound but not when you do "Volume down-Power".

folks, it depends on if the Vivid has been updated to ics. ics standard is volume down and power. GB users the power home combo. Hope that helps.

Pretty much instant for me. I hold down the power key, then tap the home button. Running stock ics, rooted.

Umm, I don't know what phone any of you are talking about, but if its screenshot for the HTC Vivid, that would be "Volume Down + Power" IN THAT ORDER! I just tried your "Power and home" and nothing. I have spoken. Take it from someone who actually spent time modifying and discovering this phone's secrets. Since I'm in a good mood, I'll share an HTC Easter Egg: Go to "dialer" or "phone" and type "*#*#3424#*#*" and there ya go. You're welcome. ;-)
