Screen Cracking a Problem?

Will the AMOLED screen of the Epic crack (spider) if dropped? I've seen this many times with the Evo but it seems that the AMOLED isn't glass? My girlfriend tends to drop her phone often so I'm just wondering which will hold up longer.

Thanks for the input!

It is, and it is gorilla glass. any large screen will crack if hit nad enough though.

Yeah, Gorilla Glass will still crack like nimhero said. It's not indestructible or anything. If she's going to be dropping it a bunch (hopefully not) I'd really recommend some insurance.

Either insurance, or a VERY protective case (will make phone bulky, but its a tradeoff).

Screens crack very easily

I had my epic less then 24 hours, the screen has a tiny crack across the top corner, but it has made the phone completely unusable. unless you live in a bubble, I would be very wary. since the screen has a "pressure" crack I am being accused of breaking the phone. Radio shack won't return it or replace it, sprint won't help at all either. you can't even keep this phone in your pocket without breaking it. I spent three hellish hours trying to get radio shack and sprint to be responsible for a phone unfit for the purpose intended, what a waste of time and money!

whoa... sucks.

Post a picture please to verify such claims....I'm using my phone bare I did buy that skull case but took it off since it didn't work in dock and didn't want to remove on and & off. Hopefully we don't have quality issues with this phone so soon!

Yeah, I'm bare too. I'm using a belt-clip for the phone. I don't stick it in the pocket. Too many times I have forgotten and stuck phones in the same pocket with keys. Sand in my swimming trunks scratched the screen of my LG Dare. No more pockets for me.

Mine is in my pocket bare. I keep it (with the glass side facing my leg) and my Jawbone Icon in one pocket, everything else goes in the other. I felt pretty comfortable with this setup until I read this post...

If you could post some pictures it would be appreciated. I'm bare with mine because I didn't think id need a screen protector with Gorrila Glass but this makes me wonder.
