Screen freeze when phone wakes up

Had my X since late May, works great, I love it but lately the screen freezes when I wake the phone up for sometimes about 10 seconds, after that it works great. Any ideas? Running Froyo still if that matters.

Mine will do that on occasion, but I am running Gingerbread. I know that by flashing a ROM or rooting can alleviate the problem, but I don't want to do that...things should "work" with a fair amount of regularity without running a different system...
