screen goes black on whatsapp voice call

after the call is connected screen goes black and does not respond

Sounds like proximity sensor is being activated. Is anything covering the sensor?

when i use whatsap and duo voicd call my screen goes black until i receeiver not cut the call what should i do to overcome with this problem
