Screen goes Black!

Had this happen last year when I was using Google Maps and on a phone call via BT: screen went black and was unresponsive to home and power button presses. Finally after pushing ad lib and then waiting, screen came back on asked for me to unlock and acted like nothing was wrong.
Now many months later, same situation has happened 3 times in one day: one with Google Maps and again a Bluetooth call, then a Bluetooth call only and then just using G Maps. Unable to see home screen no matter what button pressed; just have to wait it out. Few Minutes later screen on. BTW, I'm able to hear the directions and caller. Done everything but factory reset.
Any help and thoughts would be greatly appreciated...? Peace

Sounds like a flacky video driver chip on the phone's main board or something like that... chip just flakes out then comes back when it feels like it and sends video to the display again? Just a guess...

I had the same issue with Google maps. Screen blacked out and after multiple button combinations, screen came back on
