Screen is unresponsive, workaround using scrcpy

For some reason the screen on my phone became unresponsive and I found this software called scrcpy which I could use to control my phone through my computer. The problem is I need to manually enable OTG for it to work. I've tried using scrcpy --otg command but it states it cannot find any USB device. The cable and the USB port are router login working and the device is charging but for some reason it cannot detect my phone.

What's the reason you're going through this much trouble? Trying to retrieve important documents?
