Screen issue

I'm on ATT. I'm on my 3rd replacement phone. The first 3 developed a buzz in the earpiece. So far this one's earpiece is doing ok.

But, it's now doing something with the screen. This is the third time I've gone to use the phone and when I tap on the screen to turn wake it, the screen is black. I can see the notification bar at the top, 2 of the 3 onscreen bottom buttons (the far right button is not there) and even the Network Mini display. But everything else is black. I restart the phone and it goes back to normal.

I believe this started after I updated to Lollipop but I can't say for certain. I did have Lux installed (again I can't remember if this started before or after I installed Lux. I deleted it to see if that may have been a possible cause.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have had this happen twice I think since I upgraded to Lollipop. Never happened before. I don't have Lux installed at all, so don't think that's your problem. Restarting the phone clears the issue. I'm not sure what's causing the issue and it doesn't happen very frequently, so it's hard to trouble-shoot. I did a full restore on my phone after upgrading to Lollipop, so it's not an issue of not restoring.

Sounds like it could be the launcher. Are you using the stock launcher? If so, try google now launcher and see if the problem persists.

I've been using Nova launcher since I got the phone.

Maybe try going back to the stock launcher for a bit to see if the problem persists

It's worth a try, but I can't see how a launcher would cause the issue. For me, the problem exists when I first wake the phone up before I even enter my pin to unlock the device. So I never even get to the launcher/home page. If I had a replacement lockscreen app, I could see that causing the issue.

I am having the same issue with the screen updates to lollipop and factory reset never had this issue before so like he said it's hard to trouble shoot.
