Screen Jumping up & down

Suddenly since couple of days my phone is behaving weird and causing the screen to jump up and down. It happens even if no Apps are open in background, or when I am browsing or into some App. I had recently downloaded the MX Player and activated the H/W+ decoder. But even after removing this App I find it bothering me. I have even Cleared the Cache since then without any luck. Also, when this screen is jumping I am unable to restart the phone beyond the Samsung logo screen. Always have to remove Battery and wait for couple of mins to restart so that it works again. I am avoiding to take it to service center because their only solution always is to setup the software fresh and thereby wiping my phone to factory settings.

See attached video for the issue.

You'll end up wasting a lot more time and energy if you don't wipe and reload....

This and if that doesn't work exchange it...your phone should just work...it should be work to maintain...it should be fun and useful.

Have you done a factory reset?? I would be money that it is an app that is not playing nicely. What apps do you have installed?

I am suspecting the MX Players H/W+ decoder to be the cause. I did clear cache a couple of times again now after Uninstalling that app. The jumping seems to have stopped or reduced to once a day. I had done that before starting the thread here too but looks like that was result of some leftovers in the system which is slowly going away. Patiently monitoring now before the need for reset. Its painful to do a factory reset and get your stuff back.

Use helium to back your apps up if you're not rooted.

Ok, just an update.. The jumping has not stopped, keeps appearing in couple of days, stays ok for couple of days.
So my initial suspect MX Player is not the culprit. Phew..
I have taken the plunge and reset to factory settings to see if this solves the issue. It is as good as new, no Apps installed currently and as suspected, IT DOESNT HELP. The jumping is back even as I am setting up the 1st step of the phone.

So the phone is basically screwed and will need to be taken to Samsung for check. I shall do it soon and update here.

Ok, back in business.. It was not a software issue, they reinstalled entire OS but problem was there.. further digging lead to conclusion that LCD display was ****ed. So they kept for a day and replaced whole module.. so far working good. And plus point was my multiple dents on side steel have vanished since its all 1 piece set of LCD with sides. Looks like brand new after 7 months of usage. Gonna put on a bumper now that its new again. Had used 7 months without screen guard or any case.

Well well.. I am back to square one after all these changes. Looks like Samsung Singapore techies dont know **** about this phone and are just trying their luck changing this and that. The disturbance in screen is back on my Note 3 even after installing a brand new LCD module. Going to take it back today and fire them. Dont know what they will change next, I am guessing Motherboard. How I miss Apple, when they replace the whole phone !

I'm sure they'll replace it for you if it continues.

Hi I just want to ask, what happened to the phone? Were they able to fix the issue after you returned the phone? Had there been any other replacement aside from the LCD? My Samsung S5 is experiencing same issues that you had, screen keeps on jumping and then it would stop responding and it would freeze. The only fix is by removing the batteries. I will be bringing my phone to the nearest service center, I just want to be prepared on what results I might get :) Thank you dear I hope you can shed some light, I am really feeling very frustrated with my phone.:'(

I got the phone working ever since with the replacement of yet another LCD module.. The entire set of LCD was changed twice. Maybe initially they just tried their luck with minor adjustments. But the last repair has been great and working for more than a year again.
