Screen lock stopped working

Hi after i updated my galaxy A7 2018 to pie version , screen lock doesn't working even tried to wipe cach but nothing happens .

That's what the video was demonstrating -- he selected pattern, entered a pattern and confirmed it, and the next screen showed it's still set to Swipe.

i even managed to activate it by
setting/accessibility/advanced setting/direction lock

then i played with pattern it allowed me to activate finger print

ps: i tried to add more fingers but system prevented me to do so |asking me to put screen lock as a usual procedure |

Was this an official system update pushed over-the-air, or did you download it as a file from some site?

If you tap on 'Swipe', do you get a submenu with pattern as an option?
If yes, select it.

yes it is , during may month i received it

Try going to Settings>Security​ and Clear Credentials.

Hmm, I'm running out of ideas.:-\ The copy of the firmware could be corrupt -- you could try reinstalling it using Smart Switch: SmartSwitch: Install & update or replace firmware. Or with Odin: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...w-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html

i fixed it by :
taking backup by Samsung smart switch
then i factory reset it
every thing is working fine even the battery health i noticed it stable and last longer than before (after pie update 1st time )
