Screen Lock

Hi, I have a Skyrocket but the screen lock does not work. Whenever I receive a a text message it shows up on the screen. Once I view the message the phone is totally unlocked. I'm using Handcent for messages. Is there anyway around this? Thanks,

Well to view the message you are unlocking the phone... so once you are done hit the lock button again.

In Settings > Location and Security > Timeout: make sure this is set to immediately if you are trying to make the phone lock without having to hit the lock button manually. I have mines to 30 seconds, seems ample enough time if Im texting back and forth.
