screen mirror non Samsung tv

I just purchased a new vizio smart TV and was wondering if it was possible to use the screen mirroring feature with a smart TV that's not Samsung and doesn't have a Chromecast connected.

Do you have a Tab A, or just considering getting one? This kind of compatibility can depend on both the tablet and the TV. I've seen other people on this forum successfully mirror the screen to to a non-Samsung smart TV, but have also seen others being unsuccessful.

I have one. Got it from T-Mobile when I switched a few weeks back, haven't tried it yet and was at work wondering so figured I'd see if anyone on here knew before I got home to try.

I tried with my vizeo and couldn't get it to work. May try this weekend again. last time it was just a quick attempt.

I tried earlier when I got home and it didn't work. Said no nearby devices found. Not sure what else to try to get it to work other than plugging a Chromecast in
