Android Central Question

I recently bought a touch projector that uses Android 6 (Puppy Cube made by Puppy Robot at www.puppyrobot.com). I want to use the device to mirror my Windows 10 device's screen to the projector. I know that my Windows 10 devices (a Surface Book & Surface Go) have Miracast, and I thought that the Puppy Cube had Miracast, but I have read that Android 6.0 stopped supporting Miracast. When I attempt to connect to the Puppy Cube, my Windows 10 devices recognize that it is there, but cannot connect to it. What am I forgetting? I am new to Android, and everything I have found online is about mirroring an Android phone (which is not what I am not using) to a Windows 10 device (which is not the direction I am attempting to mirror). Is there a setting I need to change that I am missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

From the manual:

When the device is connected to the same WLAN as your mobile phone or tablet,
enable the projection function on the phone or tablet and, in the device list that
appears, select the option that includes the words "puppy cube" to connect.
