Screen on with notifications

As I recall my Pixel 2 had an option to not turn the screen on when a notification happens. Is there any way to get my Note 10 to behave the same way? I'd rather not have the screen pop on while my phone is in my shirt pocket...

Have you tried Settings -> Lock screen -> Notifications and turning them off there?

I want the notifications to appear, just not to turn the screen on.
