Screen problem? Weird dark rectangle across most of screen.

Screenshots won't pick it up so I traced it with an editor. I'm curious if its common... Not really much of a bother, just wanna know how to possibly fix it. The inside of the shape is only slightly darker than the rest of the screen, and I only see it on dark colors.

It was doing it always, so it can't be the ROM.

Could you go in depth as to what you mean by "always"? Do you mean it happened when you got the phone brand new?

I got it from eBay. Used. It's always been there. With stock and with official CyanogenMod so its the phone not the ROM.

My guess is it's a hardware problem since it's not showing up when taking a screenshot. Not sure if it would be an LCD issue, or something else.
