Screen problems

Wondering if anyone has experienced this problem. Sometimes during general use my G3's screen will flicker and then slowly fade to black. To get it back I have to lock the phone and then I'm able to use the knock code to wake it up again and then screen looks fine, but will often repeat this behaviour soon afterwards. It sort of looks like the backlight is turning off, leaving only the dark parts of the image visible.

I'm 4 days out of warranty so can't send back to lg for a fix. The phone is not water damaged and is in pretty good condition other than a few bangs and scratches to the corners. The screen itself isn't cracked or anything. Iv also tried a factory reset which hasn't helped?

I had this happen and eventually the back light stopped working at all. Had to get a replacement phone.

update on this. Replaced screen and digitiser today. still got the same problem. So its either the board itself or software. however I did do a factory reset on it already
