Screen protector--- hate em??

Try a different brand....

I used screen protector on fragile/soft laptop screens, but didn't feel them necessary on phones/tablets. Scratch resistant glass is just below quartz in hardness, so just be careful at the beach (a lot of quartz in sand), metal is way softer and won't scratch. I've been carrying my G2X in my back pocket for nearly 2 years and there is not even a hint of a scratch on the glass.

Not all are made the same. And manufacturers' claims of scratch resistance aren't always accurate. Unfortunately, I'd bet if you took a phone back to a phone store with a scratch after a couple of months with a complaint "it's supposed to be scratch-proof" you'll get sympathy, but no return. I don't mean to sound like a screen protector salesman, but I've had many devices with touchscreens that just don't hold up to the marketing blab. Rather than live with a permanent scratch, I shell out the $5-$15 for a good screenie, and buy a new one every year or two (unless it's a good, washable one).
