Screen protector or not?

Thx aggie. But that does make me wonder if you'd had a regular screen protector on it if anything at all would have happened. It might have just bounced, nothing broken.

well there was no bouncing either way. It was in my hand and never left it. It just slammed, with the force of my body falling with it, onto the concrete. Regular screen protector may have served it just as well but they sure don't feel as nice as the tempered glass. I hate screen protectors as I love the feel of the glass and tempered glass protectors serve the purpose of protecting from scratches while still having the natural feel.

You worry about your finances. I'll worry about mine :)

I am most definitely not worried about your finances :) I was just asking because I often see people on these forms, whether it's here or CNET or somewhere else saying that they own like 5 current top end smartphones and I always wonder why. I am not saying that you are but I am quite sure many of them are F.O.S. I mean I can see one for work and one personal, or if you own these across all members of your family. But for a single person to have all of them is just something I don't understand.

Lol ok gotcha. Thx again everyone for the info. I've used regular ones and eventually taken them off because I like the feel of glass and the vibrant look of the screen. Still not entirely sure what I'm going to do yet.

Nope like the feel of the glass as is. I have stopped using screen protectors for couple of years now and not one miss them.

Any scratches on your screens since giving up on screen protectors?

Me personally, not a single scratch and I keep it in my front pocket with keys all the time.

Oh and does anyone know if the Zagg or other tempered glass ones offer any extra protection or guarantee against screen shattering?

Its a hobby. Obsession. Whatever you want to call it. Many of us here are tech obsessed, obviously, or we wouldn't be on a forum such as this. Some people spend alot of money on a country club membership or something. I'm not much of a golfer, so not me. This is the hobby (along with season tickets for various sports teams) that I choose to spend my time and money on. I don't always keep all of them in my possession. I flip them on swappa, craigslist, or give to my wife when she wants a change.

You can usually find a cheap glass screen protector on Amazon to try out and see if you like it. I personally like the Zagg ones, but if you aren't sure it makes more sense to try out a cheaper one first and see how you like it.

I'm not sure about Zagg but I have used Spigen on my S4 and shattered the front screen, I peeled off screen protector (original screen was perfectly fine) and they sent me a new one. As of now they aren't offering for the S6 so I guess I'll go with Zagg.

I have always used glass screen protectors in all my devices. Then I acquired a Note Edge. The only ones that are available are the film screen protector. I used the one I got from Verizon. That lasted about a week. Then I got a Skinomi which went on well but, the feel of plastic is not great and the screen protector has slight scratches from the stylus. I have been thinking about taking the film one off and going without one.

The vendors keep putting off the glass screen protectors for my device. They were supposed to release it in January, then February and then March.

So IMO, its either a glass screen protector or none at all.

Has anyone used Skinomi before? Thinking of giving this a shot seeing as it is so cheap. Hard to think the quality of Zagg is worth the extra $25 in difference. Could be wrong though.

Awesome! Mind letting me know how the quality is? Have you used any other glass screen protector brands?

Just slapped a Fosman. 26mm 9h hardness tempered glass on my s6. Picked it up on Amazon for like $8. Seems pretty nice so far. Fingerprints aren't showing up yet & man is this thing slick. Will still probably get a zagg glass eventually (whenever they are in Stock somewhere) but I believe this will do for now.

Any Halo around the edges at all? Come on, give us some pictures in that Otterbox Defender. :p

How good does the S6 fit into the Defender?

Do you suggest getting the Fosman? I like the idea of the warranty for Zagg but if the quality is about the same there is no point. I've only used a max of two glass screen protectors on one phone. Any problems with bubbles after installing?

I haven't used a screen protector in years. I think the last one I had was for my Motorola Droid. I haven't scratched any of my screens that I could tell. I carry the phone in my front pocket, but with nothing else in that pocket.

After using the Fosman I do see the slight halo people are talking about. Very miniscule to me that is. I will say I think it's better to wait for more reputable company's products. It will do for now. As I said before I will be getting a zagg glass as soon as it is available for me to pick up. And lol, I don't have a camera available right now I am @ work. Thus I don't have the ability to take a picture of the phone in the camo Otterbox. Hopefully this afternoon.
