Hi all. Just wondering if anyone uses a screen protector on your main display. Samsung advise not to but I was wondering what people's experiences are with them. Thank you all
Thank you. I wasn't aware that the factory fitted protector could be removed without damaging the screen
Yeah I'm new to foldable phones but can remember some you tubers dammaging the screen by removing the protector. But that was on the original fold.wasnt sure if it would have the same issueLooking at all the YouTube videos of creators removing the factory fitted screen protector it looks pretty straight forward.
Removing the factory fitted screen protector won't invalidate the manufacturing warranty, but if the screen is damaged while removing the screen protector then the warranty would become voided.
For now I too am leaving the screen protector in place on the outer screen and inner screen.
The Whitestone Dome Glass screen protectors are my always go to option.
The fitting of the inner screen protector does look a little more involved due it not being adhered like Whitestone Dome Glass screen protectors that have come before it that use liquid silicone glue, but instead is pressed in place with a squeegee.
I have never dealt with Samsung customer care. Fingers crossed I will be able to keep the main screen protector in good shapeWell was far as the warranty not being voided on removing the screen protector on inside screen.. That's a dangerous game to play with Samsung and their great track record on customer service. If something happens to the screen after removing the screen protector, the doors are kicked wide open for Samsung to blame that and not cover it. Anyone that has dealt with Samsung customer service will tell you have fun in this situation, you're in for a ride of horror.
In reality it should be under warranty, but the door is open for warranty deny on the screen once it's removed.
Hopefully you never have to deal with them. The warranty should be fine if you remove it, I'm just the one that can see Samsung trying to not cover something for that and it's a battle I would hate to have with them.I have never dealt with Samsung customer care. I would probably send mine in to replace the inside screen protector myself if needed. The front screen protector I just remove when it gets scratched up, which I'm getting ready to do soon. The front is just plastic so it's a very temporary screen protector.I'm hoping to never have to remove the OEM screen protectors. They look good and feel good and I'm pretty gentle on my devices so fingers crossed. If something happened and the inner screen protector did get a scratch or bubble I'd be sending in the phone to Samsung so they can replace it. The outer one? I can likely do that well enough that my OCD security alarm sensors wouldn't get tripped.
Sounds like you have the same old as me. E.g cracked screens drive me insane and I can't use one. The Mrs always cracks her screenI'm hoping to never have to remove the OEM screen protectors. It's easy to remove as long as you take your time.
The scenario is then the phone minus this protection.
Personally I wouldn't leave any of my phones without a screen protector of some sort.
Whitestone Dome is the version I use.
