Screen Protectors

well that sucks lol im going to shoot them an email, i assumed they had them for every device i had a couple s3 covers left and thru it on my dna.

I think I'm going to give the Photodon ones a try. I like the Skinomi, but they don't play nice with a case. Hopefully those will work better with a Diztronic case.

Have you used these ones, do you have any pictures? If so, did you get oleophobic?

I didn't do the greatest job at applying it around the edges, but I think it also may be normal. I went with the oleophobic which seem fine, but I haven't used their non-oleophobic protector.

I just ordered some of those. We'll see how they work out for me. If not, I may have to get the verizon ones. I just don't like how cases don't play nice with the Skinomi.

I had the photodon ones and the feel of them is great. My problem is that the cut isn't great. The first set were too large and ended up not working. I emailed them and they had them recut to be smaller, but they were still a tad too big. From the looks of the one above though, they fixed them again. (I emailed them when I got the replacement set that was still too big, and I gave them measurements for the best fit)

They're dirt cheap, and they're a product of a small business, so they're well worth the investment.

I hate say it but I can't recommend Photodon.

I tried installing the first protector and had small dust particles. My fault for going too quick. It would of been easier if there would of been a sticker to assist in removal of the layer over the side that applies.

So I remove the first and try to apply the second. To my surprise the second protector application side was barely sticky at all. I checked the other side to make sure I wasn't trying to apply the outward facing side. I wasn't because the other side had no tackiness. The second protector didn't seem to be the same quality as the first far as aesthetics go. Thus the reason I can't recommend them. I basically paid $12.65 for one protector. At least they gave me a free iPhone 5 protector, but I don't have one. Glad I still have some Verizon protectors laying around.

You may want to contact them about the issue and even send them the screen protectors if they ask for them. If you got a faulty one (wrong material) I'm sure they'd send you a new batch.

I've already threw them away. I was upset about screwing up the first one, then had the problem with the second. At that point I was fed up. I've had time to cool down, just ordered another set. I informed them of my issue and asked they ensure both are of the same quality. Who knows maybe they'll throw in a third.

Just ask them if they would replace the iPhone protector with a DNA; I asked for the heck of it and they actually obliged me. Definitely great customer service.

i know i know, some people swear by gorilla glass 2 but i like to have that extra protection.

When I ordered my Droid DNA, I had no intention of getting a screen protector for it. Its equipped with gorilla glass 2, and shouldn't need it if you take care of your phone. At least that's what I thought. I've had it less than 2 weeks and it already has quite a few light scratches towards the top and bottom of the screen. I keep it in my pant/jean pocket with NOTHING else in it, yet it somehow keeps acquiring scratches. I had a Droid X2 for almost 2 years and never put a case or screen protector on it and it only had a few light scratches on it, about what the DNA has after less than 2 weeks. The X2 only had gorilla glass, but seemed to be much more scratch resistant. Needless to say, I've been VERY disappoint with the DNA's screen durability.

I'm looking into getting a good screen protector and am having a difficult time pulling the trigger on one. They all seem to have quite a few complaints. My only requirements are not(substantially at least) hindering the screen's picture quality or smooth touch(no rubbery feeling!). I'm also considering getting a case for it and need the screen protector to be compatible, either the diztronic or seidio. I don't mind spending more on the screen protector if the quality is there.

Just took off the Zagg protector on my Nexus 7. Only had it on for 1 week....they claim it's scratch proof LOL. I noticed this morning that I had numerous swirls, started to look cloudy.
I peeled it up a bit to make sure it was underneath; nope, surface scratches. Not to mention that even though I got it on perfectly it never looked as clear as any other protector I've used.
Took it back to Best Buy and the salesperson said that they do not take back Zagg products once they have been applied, huh?? He claimed it was a consumable.....
That doesn't fly with me, how would I have known it was defective if I didn't use it?
I told the guy it was defective, not to mention it had an awful "rubbery" feel when trying to scroll on the screen. My finger would stick and stumble every time.
He said that all Zagg warranty's are handled through Zagg directly. I told him the whole point in buying locally was for the convenience and face to face service. If I wanted to deal with Zagg I would have purchase it online. The guy called over the GM but he was worthless, pretty much spewed the same line.
Do not purchase Zagg products from Best Buy...they will take your money with pleasure but will turn their back if you have a problem.

Updated, response from ZAGG: (I was told to contact ZAGG directly by Best Buy)

Hello,
Thank you for contacting ZAGG, home of the invisibleSHIELD and iFrogz! My name is Christian and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
I am very sorry to hear about the problem you have experienced with your invisibleSHIELD. Unfortunately, because you purchased your invisibleSHIELD from a re-seller, you would have to contact them for a refund. The reason for this is that we do not have the original funds or payment method of that purchase, so there is no transaction on our end that we can reverse. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, you are welcome to place a warranty request and we will send you a replacement invisibleSHIELD.

BUYER BEWARE OF ZAGG / BEST BUY WARRANTY POLICY, PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Update:
Placed a complaint with BBB and the Best Buy Online Community, they contacted the store manager and he had a change of heart.
I received a message this morning that they would be happy to give me a refund.

My issue is this (same argument I made with the BBB and Best Buy Online Community), the ZAGG packaging and website both say ?Scratch Proof? regardless of the level willful ignorance being practiced by the employees of ZAGG. They do not suggest or imply that it is the phone screen or tablet screen that becomes scratch proof.
Their advertising is misleading (and probably purposely). On the back they show someone trying to push through the product with a pen and have the word ?Durable?, clearly they are talking about the product.
Next there is a shot of the product with the word ?Invisible?, again talking about the product (By the way, it?s not ?Invisible? either). Next is a pic of someone trying to scratch the surface of the product and it says ?SCRATCH PROOF? and all of sudden they are no longer referring to the product?

Best Buys use of the term "consumable" is ridiculous. I asked the store manager to explain what consumable means and he said that if the product is used it cannot be put back on the shelf.
I asked "even if it's a defective warranty return? How was I supposed to know it was defective unless I tried it? How is this different than a computer, telephone or TV? He could not answer.

This is the response that they gave to the BBB:
" although the store was correct in denying the return because the product cannot be resold, the manager at the store has agreed to make a one-time exception and allow the return."
That's a scary thought, if they can't resell a warranty return they cannot take it back??

The item wasn't defective. You just didn't like it. They were under no obligation to return it, and neither was zagg. Also sounds to me like you just don't understand the terms being used on the packaging.

Even if it was defective, once its used you have to go through zagg to get a replacement because of the nature of the product.

You are somewhat correct, I didn't like it after the surface developed scratches. I'm weird like that......wanting a product to perform as implied is a really bad trait of mine.
The Best Buy employee said "don't worry, Zagg products are "self healing and scratches will go away on their own" .......right.
Furthermore, the Best Buy Community representative did agree that some of the verbiage and examples on the Zagg packaging were misleading.

The way zagg protectors work is that they may 'scratch' but as you continue to use your device those 'scratches' work themselves out. That's how the material was engineered. That is basic knowledge of zagg protectors. A quick Google search would have provided that information.

Nothing was misleading, and neither best buy nor zagg did anything wrong.
