I need help in picking out a screen protector. I usually never use one, so it been a long time since I've purchased any. I'm getting a new phone and would like to get a decent one.

I remember using one before that was somewhat textured looking, left no finger prints or smudges when using the screen. Your finger would smoothly glide across the screen....any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I pre-ordered the SGP Clear case and it comes with one of their ultra clear protectors so I'll give that a shot.

Thanks, I'll have give one of those a try. Just don't want to use one that smudges and smears.

Just fyi I had a screen protector on and it made the home/back buttons unresponsive at times.
The textured smooth ones your on about with the matt finish are anti glare, they will lower the perceived sharpness of the screen resolution though.

This is what I got for front and back.

XtremeGuard Clear LCD Full Body Screen Protector Skin Cover for All New HTC One | eBay

I've used Xtreme Guard on several devices and I like the quality of it as it's very clear and smooth as well.

I have a set of these waiting for my phone to arrive. I got it primarily for the back clear "film" as I may use it with no case kept in a pocket with nothing else sometimes. The thinness is supposedly one of it's best features.

I bought a Amzer screen protector. Might not use it tho.. I'm waiting on a tempered glass one

Same here. I don't do cases and wanted protection from scratches. I also carry my phones in my pocket.

Try looking for an anti-glare screen protector. Those tend to fit the description you gave (slightly textured, don't show as many fingerprints/smudges), in my experience.

Why even get a screen protector? Just another way to spend money. I haven't had one in years and keep my phone in my pocket with my keys. Never had a scratch that you could notice.

I got my phone in this afternoon, and it is pretty sweet all by its self. I will be using it for work so I will need some sort of protection.

I guess you would have to shorten the protector a bit. I guess that's why the built in protector on the otterbox defender has a cut out around the home buttons.

That's what I plan on doing with the Xtreme guard one. Since's it's not designed to cover the phone from top to bottom, it should be relatively easy to shorten if I have to. When my phone comes tomorrow, I'll let you know how it works out.

I just bought an Otterbox Defender and it comes with a screen protector, but I want to change the case out once in a while. Does anyone think I will be making a mistake if I get another screen protector in addition to the Otterbox?

Hey youngaceatlanta, Update your signature from "HTC One soon", to "now" !! The rest of us will wait until Friday to play with the new baby....

I got the SGP ultra clear...it's pretty nice...it's clear but damn it's a finger print magnet

Installed the Xtreme Guard and it does cover the soft keys and they didn't respond well. So I cut about 1/4 of an inch (just above the soft keys) and I'm good to go. Clear and smooth.

Does the back film fit well and make it less "slippery"? I'm getting my phone tomorrow and already have the Extreme Guards.
