I received my nexus 7 tablet today. I was extremely excited to get it. The main purpose I purchase the tablet for was for media consumption something to take place of my laptop for reading web browsing photo sharing ect. Although while trying to read magazines and books I've noticed that the dpi of the nexus 7 is considerably worse than my galaxy nexus. I'm not sure if I can handle any less DPI than the gnex. Everything just looks so blurry to me. I really didn't think the dpi would be an issue. The magazines are definitely the worst but I'm still not crazy about the books and web pages. Am I all alone here?

I haven't done enough with my Nexus 7 just yet but I have a Rezoun, which has the best screen right now on the market. I love the screen of my Nexus 7 and think its beyond amazing for it only being 7 inches.

I have both devices and noticed the colors are a bit dull on the 7 compared to the galaxy nexus. Still a nice screen but you can just see the colors are off when side by side.

I have a Galaxy Nexus (316 DPI) and an iPad 3 (264 DPI) and admit that going back to something like a 10.1 inch 1280x800 (150 DPI) resolution is painful.

But I'm not really having any problems with the 216 DPI on the Nexus 7. I don't hold it as close to my face as I would the Galaxy Nexus, so the DPI really doesn't need to be as high really.

I really wish they had done a 1920X1200 display on a 7.2" screen. But there's no way they'd pull that off with a $200 price tag...this year.

Who knows? Maybe Apple will launch with 300+ PPI screen on the mini iPad. It would be 326 PPI if they did 2048x768 on a 7.85" screen. That's the same as the iPhone 4/4S. If they launch at $299, that could be the key differentiator.

Viewing the same pictures and icons side by side, my Galaxy Nexus screen blows my Nexus 7 out of the water. The colors are far more vivid on the GN.

That's the beauty of Samsung's Super AMOLED display. Just wish it wasn't as grainy as it is in low backlight and gray colors...
