Screen Resolution

It really depends on the size and distance from the screen you are to see a difference. The farther you are away from the screen the less likely you'll see any difference. However the closer you get to the screen the more noticeable it'll become. This is especially noticeable on larger screens as you can see the pixel density more clearly. On smaller screens it's not as noticeable as the pixels are densely packed as it is.

I find brightness to be more of a battery killer than resolution. Low brightness and wqhd settings seem to work fine for me. Bright screens bother my eyes more.

I really don't worry about battery life at all. When I am in my car, the phone is always plugged in. When I am at work, it's sitting on the wireless charger (when I am not using it). So, I just run my phone on High Performance mode all the time. If I'm ever going to be without a charger for 10+ hours then I switch to Optimized Mode (screen is set to FHD).

When I change mine from FHD to WQHD it blows out my Zooper Widget and SwiftKey Keyboard. Makes them huge.
