Screen Restored

So, my Pixel 3 is going on 3 years old (as is everybody's still hanging around here ). Recently in a fit of that "new phone itch" I often get, I grabbed an S21 Ultra. Returned it rather quickly as it wasn't for me, but upon returning to my beloved Pixel 3 I couldn't help but notice how "sticky" the screen felt and how many fingerprints and smudges it collected in comparison to the shiny new S21. I knew the oleophobic coating on my Pixel was shot due to age and use, so it got me wondering if it could be restored. So I hit Amazon and found this product (several other too, but I opted for this one):

I just applied it; application was SUPER easy, and I am very impressed thus far! My screen feels practically new and fingerprints just disappear now! We'll see how it holds up (I'll provide updates if anyone is interested) but I wanted to share in case anyone else missed that new screen silkyness . I was skeptical of this product when I ordered it but I'm glad I pulled the trigger on it!

Re: Screen "restored"

Moderator Note - if you could fix my title, please. (I guess the quotes messed it up.)

Thanks!

That's a very reasonable price to restore that new screen feeling to your phone. Hopefully it holds up. Definitely keep us updated & congratulations on a successful application!

:)

I have a glass protector on my Pixel 3a, love it. I understand it is a personal choice.
Yeah, I like to use my phone case-less around the house and dislike the sharp edges you get with tempered glass screen protectors. While in a case I typically don't mind them, but going back and forth with and without a case I find the edges of the protector annoying ...

The only phone I've used case-less was my Moto X Pure Edition, it had a nice curved, rubberized back, and felt very secure in the hand. All my other glass and metal phones felt like holding an ice cube, too thin and slippery, it always felt like I was one step away from dropping them. A nice textured case of some kind always gives me a much more secure grip, and minimizes the accidental screen touches.

Going case-less definitely makes these big phones feel a little bit smaller and thinner, but I would have dropped many without cases :-[

You're a braver man than me lol.

I'll bump this one. How's the new protection holding up after a month?

Not good, if I'm being honest LOL

First time I applied it I followed the directions which said to only use a few drops. Well, that lasted a couple of weeks (if that). So I applied it again and went rouge Applied a bunch, let it sit for 10 minutes and applied a bunch more. That's been a couple of weeks ago and it still seems to be holding up nicely.

Oh, my god, rouge! Not with screen STUFF. That is probably incredibly risky! :):D:eek:

Thanks for the accessment.
