Screen rotation not working on Galaxy S5

[AC Question]

I asked earlier about my screen rotation not working... i tried your solution but it did not work. Is there anything else I can try?

I don't know what thread you're referring to, nor therefore the suggested fix. But try Safe Mode.
Please note, you're very welcome to register as a member....it's easier to get a fruitful exchange going then.

Mine just recently started doing the same thing. I searched for a few days and eventually hard reset my phone. Didn't work which means it's the gyro inside that is broken I don't recommend hard resets or you'll lose everything but pictures and music if you save them.

You can check your gyro sensor, amongst other things, by typing in... *#0*# into the dial pad and selecting sensor from the test menu. Alternatively, if this function has been disabled by your carrier, you can download and install, free from the Play Store, Phone Tester (hardware info). To turn screen auto rotate on or off, go to... Settings > Display > Screen rotation.

I don't recommend hard resets or you'll lose everything but pictures and music if you save them.

There are a number of ways that you can much more fully backup your phone, as described in... Backup! Backup! Backup! NOW!
