Screen saver brightness

I'm not sure what you mean by using Dock. I manually turn on the screen saver while it's on the Pixel charger stand. I don't have any security in a screen lock. Help a dummy. Take me through the steps. Thanks again for your patience.

(Banging head on the wall)

DOCK = PIXEL STAND!!!

Step 1: Hold phone
Step 2: Lock phone with power button
Step 3: Place phone on Dock/Stand
Step 4: Look at screen
Step 5: Press cog wheel options icon in the upper right corner of the screen
Step 6: See menu referenced above
Step 7: Tell us what you see

When you put on pixel stand wait until screen times out and tap once the screen should give you these options

I followed your instructions exactly. My screen went totally blank. When I touched the screen, my display went to the Home screen. Somehow, while clicking around, I saw the screen you sent me but it didn't have the cog in the upper right corner of the screen. Please, what is next?

Maybe restart the device and try again

I've tried restarting and a multitude of other things. Nothing seems to work. I'm ready to give up. Thanks to all of you for helping me. Google support tells me to restore the system to fix the problem. I'm not willing to do it so I guess ill live it and hope an update will take care of it. Thanks again.

How did you post the screenshot. I posted the question on this newsgroup but have not heard from anyone yet.

Thanks very much for the tip. It solved my problem. I love folks like you. You are a great plus for this newsgroup.

Suddenly after no changes were made, my clock screen saver has turned very dim. I can hardly read it. What happened?
U

The only time my screen saver shows is when I manually activate it. It doesn't work when the screen times out regardless on the Pixel charger stand or in my hand

What are you doing to manually activate it?

No but I tried it both on and off. Still doesn't work.

I guess my question is...What do you want on the screen? The ambient display which will show your notifications and such? Or just the screen saver which only shows the clock(or whatever)?
