Screen sensitivity issues anyone?

For touch screen problem try this:
-in dialer type *#2663#
-TSP firmware update (general)
You should see "PASS"

This method solved my unresponsive touchscreen issue.

Was starting to lose hope and then found this gem of an advice! This worked brilliantly. Thanks a lot! The difference compared to what the touch-sensitivity was before is huge...

I think the sensitivity issue occurs with some framework for Samsung Pay that's installed later on, that's why the phone appears fine at first but later the sensitivity goes to **** after the framework is installed. Mine is still working fine since I've factory reset and manually installed everything back and not touched Samsung Pay at all. I wish I had manually installed everything back on first phone, would have save me a screen protector, lots of time and frustration.

tempest02 is correct. This is a problem with Samsung Pay. We have demonstrated this on both my S6 and my wife's S6. However the problem goes away if you turn off the Simple Pay features (under Settings | Use Simple Pay). This eliminates the ability to "slide up" the cards from the bottom of your screen, but the screen sensitivity goes back to normal. With Simple Pay disabled I still use Samsung Pay by clicking on the app itself.

Given that this is a Samsung app on Samsung hardware, it's hard to understand how this problem was not caught before release.

Hey there, having this problem myself after a few weeks of having the phone. I'm assuming its some app that has taken over my touch capabilities. Removes both Samsung Pay and Android pay and still the touch is all wacky on the S6. Tried several codes but i'm on the Verizon S6 and of course they disable dialer codes. Is my next move to uninstall apps one by one until I find the culprit. Darn this is annoying as heck, any other ideas??? :(

It's best u factory reset the phone and reinstall apps 1 by 1 manually without touching samsung pay. Or try what KMAN2K7 said.

Take a look at this thread and see if any of those possible fixes work for you.

Screen unresponsive in some places? Try these fixes.

I had this problem with my s6, started a few weeks after I got it. Samsung pay wasn't installed on my phone as it's unavailable in the UK.

I fixed my problem by using the dialer code and updating the touch fw. It has been perfect ever since, around 4 months now.

I tried dialing into *#2663# and was told it could not be completed....sounds like the suggestion would work if I could get thru to the update...

THANK YOU to all who posted this. I've been struggling with sensitivity issues for weeks. I took off my screen protector and new spigen case which seemed to cause the issue. After doing the fix you all mentioned, it works perfectly with or without the case. You've made my day, much appreciated!! :)

This worked for my S6 (UK based on ee). Top menu was very hard to activate, although earlier mentions of pressing and holding for a while did produce the dropdown menu, but shouldn't of needed it. Some apps needed several presses to work, and letters in bottom/left of on screen (samsung stock) keyboard were very insensitive.
Anyhow, the code above worked just perfectly. Sensitivity back to normal so far. Thanks to all who suffered before me for finding it out :-)

I had also tried the animation in developer mode setting to x.5 but that didn't seem to make any difference

The TSP firmware update really seems to be the silver bullet, but it doesn't appear to be possible for the Verizon version, at least via the code in the dialer app. There has to be a way to do something similar for the Verizon version -- has anyone tracked down an alternative? This suddenly surfaced for me last week and it's almost rendering the phone useless. Thanks in advance!

I am facing the same issue, been looking for solutions for a month now and everything mentioned will not work with the Verizon version, unfortunately I have no way of getting a replacement or swap for personal reasons but I have seen Samsung post news on the next update. Seems like it will be released in April (2016). As close as we are to April the problem is unbearable! Even restarting the phone and wiping cache doesn't do the trick. I should have done my research before buying the damn thing!

If it's under warranty I think you need to send it in, regardless of reasons. It seems to be a hardware issue, atleast for me it was.

I guess it wont hurt to try - funny thing is that I have no 3rd party apps installed, other than whatsapp and viber and the problem occurs most often when I am at 50% battery (or less) and outside in the cold weather. Then there are days where I would get hours of greatness, works perfectly than bam back to sluggish/unresponsive screen....ughhhhhh!

Thank you for the post. This has made a hugh difference in the screen response. Wish I had checked before I did the factory reset.

Thank you SO MUCH to the people who shared the *#2663# fix! My Galaxy S6 is working perfectly now and responds to touches even when it's lying on the table now, which it DIDN'T at all before! I was about to send my phone to samsung. Again, thank you so much!
