Hey.
A couple of days ago i was messing with my display settings. Everthing seemed normal. I think i only messed with the screen rotation and the timeout time. So as of about two days ago my screen shuts off whenever I put anything (usually my finger) in front of the camera and as soon as i move my finger it goes back on. The camera is not in use and the settings are basically on default. I don't know what to do and its really annoying because its constantly is blacking out.
Help me please.! Thank you ♡

Welcome to Android Central! Does it completely black out, or just dim a lot? Maybe it's the Automatic Brightness. If the light sensor thinks you're in a dark room, it will dim the screen, since you don't want a bright screen in the dark. The light sensor is right next to the camera, so putting your finger right over the camera might be reducing the amount of light the sensor is detecting.

It almost sounds like the phone thinks it's on a call, and the proximity sensor is activated (which shuts off the screen when it detects it's up against your ear during a call). Have you tried rebooting the phone? If that doesn't work, try clearing the system cache partition, which clears temporary system data only, not important personal data. My dear ,
it happened to me before
you may enter into Samsung Note 2 mobile settings
then enter into " Display "
then let the last choice " Auto adjust screen tone " to be not active
if you will do this very simple steps , your screen will be always working , without any closing and being full dark on time your finger or hand or anything being infront of your an infront camera ,
good luck
