Screen stutter when turning off screen

I've noticed the screen on my s6 has started stuttering before turning off when i use the power button to turn it off. It just started doing it yesterday and its really starting to bug me. I've tried resetting and wiping cache and it hasn't worked. Any solutions?

What do you mean by stutter? Does it jitter or "lag" when you turn off via the power button? Could it be the off animation you are seeing rather than stutter?

The screen will flash off and on really fast right before it does the screen off animation.

I was using button saver, but i have uninstalled it thinking it was causing the problem. No luck though.

Cleared cache, but the problem persists.

reboot in safe mode and see if its the same. if it works fine in safe mode then it must be an app...

It seems to have gone away in safe mode. Any way to tell what app is causing it?

Are you using samsung pay? Noticed this when I started using it.

I was. Went a little nuts a few minutes ago and deleted apps till i found the offending one. Discovered samsung pay was causing the issue and deleted it. Like samsung pay a lot, but i don't think i can put up with that issue. Is it just me or was it fine till the last update?
