Screen won't rotate at all

So far this is the absolute best phone I have owned hands down. I have a small but annoying problem of the screen not auto rotating, or rotating at all.

Yes I have auto-rotate checked, I did a G sensor cal both with it checked and not checked. I have tried Touchwiz, APEX, and Nova launchers and they all do the same thing which is nothing.

I have a feeling my G sensor is not broke It may be a software issue. All the other "S gestures" work such as making a call just by putting the phone to my ear when in the TXT screen.

Anyone else have this problem, or any suggestions would be appreciated. I would hate to take this phone back to VZW just to get a Referb but may have to if it won't rotate. Thanks

I got this phone the phone first week of April 2015 and it has stop rotating. I have the rotate switch on. Please I need a answer.

This worked for me n too. Thanks! My husband usually fixes my phone as I know nothing about them. He is out of town so it was nice to be able to fix it on my own.

That actually did work for me. Thanks. :)

thanks!!!! It worked like a charm.

Sometimes all you have to do is go to settings. Then go to automatic screen rotation . Turn off automatic screen rotation then turn it back on sometimes this is the quickest way to fix the problem.

Can someone tell me how to get to the auto rotate option in the settings? I just can't find it.

if you are using Android 5, then things moved around a bit.
got to Settings>Device>Auto rotate screen.

Thanks for the info, I have been without the screen rotation since August 2015, when water got into my phone. I thought the accelerometer was ruined. Then two days ago it started working, then promptly stopped rotating. Before trying the Odin method, I held it vertically in the case and dropped it the dollar bill distance. It worked!

I have the core prime. Screen stopped auto rotate. Don't know if this could possibly work for everyone, but My fix was really simple and to be honest, purely by accident. On this particular phone. I just downloaded an auto rotate app... (picked one that had the most downloads... 15,000 or so). Installed it and then un-installed it (because it wanted a subscription). My phone started to auto rotate again. Weird, right? But it worked.

I have the core prime. Rotate stopped working. Because I had to get a text out to someone, I downloaded another 'auto rotate' app. Installed it and un-installed it after it wanted subscription info. After the un-install my phone started working again. Weird!

Seems to be a very big problem which has a very simple solution-
Choose auto rotate then switch off the phone->take battery out for 30sec->switch on again
