I just tried the AmFilm screen protector but the fingerprint reader worked really badly even after adding prints several times. I'm now thinking about trying the film one Spigen which has great reviews for fingerprints.

What is everyone else using? Has anyone just left the screen bare? If so, have you gotten any scratches? Gorilla glass victus is supposed to be much better.

Though I don't have the Samsung phone you do, I got a Skinomi plastic film screen protector (but feels premium) for my S10. It has worked great, for months! And the fingerprint scanner is working well. Whitestone Domenjs another one that works well, and is tempered glass.

Is this for the Ultra or the regular s21? I used the AM film on both phones (had s21, but got Ultra instead). S21 is not compatible with fingerprint. Ultra works absolutely great with my fingerprint. Make sure the weight is immediately put on the phone while the glue is spreading.

It's for the ultra. Since I have a 2nd one maybe I'll give it a try again. Can't hurt. I thought I did the weight early but will go even faster now. Thanks

Good luck!

Yeah, I did the weight right away, as that was recommended as well. I also used the uv light on the phone for longer than suggested. I think I did 3 minutes per quadrant about 2-3 times

Did you do the weight before the adhesive passed the sensor? I did it after it passed there which is what videos showed.

No I did it right after.....I mean right after
I just did it earlier and put it on just as it passed it. I also put slight pressure with my figure for a few seconds. So far it's much better than it was before. I'll give it a day or so for full judgment. Thanks for the help

I never use a screen protector on any of my phones. Tried one way back and didn't care for it. I'm just careful with my phones. Never put anything else in the pocket with it. Haven't noticed any scratches or damage so far. Have you tried a case with a cover (Samsung smart clear view)?

I've read good and bad about the Whitestone on the S21 ultra so didn't want to drop another $30. I decided to try this since it's only $9.99 and will see what happens. The reviews all seem good https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-NeoFl...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6931607

Yes, I too have heard some bad experiences with it - but most users praise the product. Like you, I was hesitant to pay the hefty price tag. Please keep us posted on how that screen protector fares!

I've done the wallet type cases like the Samsung but always found they got in the way when using the phone. They were also a problem using it my wireless charging car mount and needing the case open for GPS.

I ended up cancelling it after reading the sPen causes marks on it. I installed the 2nd amfilm protector and so far it's working much better. It's been unlocking on the first try most of the time. Occasionally it hasn't but the bare screen did that also. Probably me rushing!

I picked this one up based on another thread here. I can say that its works pretty well, after a day I had to oddly re add my fingerprints. After that I haven't had any noticeable issues with using it. I has the occasional miss read but that happens with out a screen protector. Overall I would recommend this for a tempered glass protector.

To be honest. I hate screen protectors. I had the Whitestone dome on my S10+ for a couple of months and it started to lift at the edges. I still have another one but have not used it. I just prefer the screen. The screen has no scratches at all on it after a year and I clean it regularly with a soft microfibre cloth to keep it clean. I do drop my phone rarely, but so far it has survived and I just try to look after it. I do use cases but not screen protectors.

I have used the IQShield brand for years and really liked them. Recently I put a protector on my daughters iPhone 11 and was totally floored how easy it was with a plastic template (tempered glass).

Putting a wet application screen on without a guide is frustrating and prone to error.

I am looking at new protectors for my Ultra, and some now have a guide where you plug a plastic piece into the usb c port.

Anyone have a good experience with one of these?

Also, I am pretty sure there is no such thing as a good tempered glass protector for rounded screens... either the edges pop up or the adhesive is only on the edges and the whole thing pops up over time.

Yes. I installed the one below on my S21 Ultra a few weeks ago and it works great. They have a short video in the product description on how to install it. I watched it several times before trying it. The package includes two sets of protectors, so if you mess it up the first time you have a second chance.
