Having read a lot of reviews, the general consensus is that the S5 screen is superior to the M8.While the Samsung screen is clearly more vivid and without question displays better blacks, the thing is - sometimes I feel like when the screen is displaying things like photos they can actually look worse because they are more vivid/saturated than the photo should be, sometimes making things look cartoon like.
I'm not saying that the HTC ONE screen is better, just making some comparisons and observations. I feel like sometimes manufacturers add features which will look good when shown in comparison - for example, when a reviewer or customer is holding both, features which push a sale, rather than actually being a good standalone feature. A brighter, more vivid, more saturated screen has a habit of making another screen look very poor when along side it but in actual usage, not in comparison - I'm not convinced its better.
