I need someone with some brains to help me.

I purchased a used Gnex that had been rooted with JB and I wanted to get it back to stock, I tried using Wug's toolkit and right now my phone is on a screen that says "start" up top, a green andoid and says "downloadin" , "do not turn off target".... seems to be stuck there. Ugh.

I can get on a messenger or whatever is easiest for someone to help me, I really need this phone working again.

You needed to get to bootloader by holding both volumes and power, you held only volume down and power, so you got to Odin mode. No biggie, just try again the right way with that toolkit and let us know..

That's ODIN.

Turn off the device--pull the battery, then reinsert it. Hold down VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN, and POWER at the same time.

What happens?

Android on it's back with it's belly open.

Please continue. I have no clue what to do now.

I guess I shouldn't have tried doing this.

Do you have a custom recovery? Navigate (with the volume toggles) to Recovery Mode. Press power. What happens?

Clicked recovery got:

"clockworkmod recovery v5.8.0.2"

with options below it

"
reboot system now
install zip from sdcard
wipe date/factory reset
wipe cache partition
backup and restore
mounts and storage
advanced
"

I am guessing I do "reboot system now" but I am unsure so I am waiting your response, I have no clue what I am doing..... appreciate it much.

You have two options:

(1) Reboot system; if that fails, repeat the battery pull and do #2

(2)

Did you make a backup? Wipe everything--data/factory reset, cache, go to advanced and wipe dalvik, then go to mounts/storage and format system.

Then either (1) restore your backup, or (2) install a rom if it's on the SDcard.

Reboot worked. Thank you so much! :D

Now should I even attempt again to unroot and get my phone back to stock or am I clearly incapable? :)

The auto driver configuration wouldn't work so I was doing manual. Got to step 6a and "samsung devices" wasn't listed. I figured I'd start over and that's when this all happened, maybe I needed to exit a certain way?

Could you or anyone guide me through this? I just want this new(used) phone I bought back to stock.

Thanks to twindragons I am all set! Just need to lock it back up, or maybe not even go that far, we will see. The most important part is done.

Thank again! :)
