Scrolling web pages problem

I have had theDNA about 6 days and love it! But just recently it has started pulling up the status bar at top and a bookmark bar at the bottom when scrolling thru web pages. It will stay there for a couple seconds then go away allowing a full screen. It doesn't do this with each scroll. When in landscape it eats up a lot of screen, there are more black bars at the top and bottom than page content. I even took it off full screen and it still pulls up the black bookmark bar at the bottom! Is there a setting adjustment I'm missing? It's aggravating as hell!

Verizon rep said if you get to the bottom of a web page and scroll up the bar comes up automatically. He then showed me on the phone on display in the store and it did it too. I'll try other browsers mentioned.

I'll bet there are some 'settings' available in that stock browser to kill the annoying extra bars.
