What you?re referring to is known as text reflow and the way HTC does it is a proprietary feature.
Chrome doesn?t have text reflow. The way it gets around it is it just shows text at a certain size such that when you double-tap zoom into it, the text fits to the width of your screen and the font size is of a comfortable size. You may adjust the font size by going into the app?s settings.
The AOSP browser has text reflow. But you must manually activate it. To do so, just zoom into the text until you get to a suitable size. Then tap twice on the text. Don?t tap so fast that it zooms back out. If you do it right, the text will reflow.
I?ve not used other browsers recently, but I?m sure some support text reflow (particularly Dolphin and Opera).
