Hi,
I just came back from vacation. During the vacation I took a lot of pictures!
And on the way back my phone (Motorola Moto G 2014) with Android 6.0 showed an error (something stopped working or so, I don't remember). I restarted it, and now it does not recognize the SD card anymore. In the "Storage and USB" it says that the card is not present, but during start-up I can see in this menu that it tries to access it. When I plug it into a computer SD card reader, the PC says the card is ok and working normally. It shows two folders (Android meta & expanded), as explained here:
https://nelenkov.blogspot.de/2015/06/decrypting-android-m-adopted-storage.html
If I understand it correctly, I need the file expand_%s.key from the folder /data/misc/vold.
The problem is: my phone is not rooted. If I try to access that folder, it tells me "permission denied". Other folders like /data/system/ I can access, though.
Now I wonder if there is a way to access the file which contains the key to decrypt my SD-card - and get my pictures back!?!
If I understand it correctly, I need to root the device - but for rooting I need to get the Motorola permission for the bootloader, and if I go that way all data on my phone will be deleted - also the key.
Any suggestions? I am very desperate! I went to a place where you go probably once a lifetime and now :-((((
Any help appreciated!
