hi everyone,
Last few weeks ive been having real problems with my Note 10.1, started off with a few folders containing music becoming corrupt, names went form ''Foo Fighter, Jimi Hendrix'' ect to ''uINGSO~'' . this has now happened to pretty much all my music on the sd card (sandisk 32gb HC) It happens every time i put music on when i insert the card to my pc via an adapter.
Next strange thing, if i use a data cable to transfer music, 90% is just missing when i put the card back in the tablet, songs will only play 2 seconds then skip to the next track, when i put the card back in the pc, they are gone.
last few days now ive been getting the ''Hardware ID missing'' message, ive got KIES installed but even that dosnt seem to be working.

Up till this point ive had no problems at all with the note, so if anyone could help at all it would be great. ive tried formatting the card and using another but still get the same problems.

Thanks in advance
Paul

Little confused by your various descriptions of how you are loading files onto the SD card - In one case you refer to using an adapter (assume you mean an SD card sized adapter to which you insert your microSD and then put the whole thing into the SD card reader on your computer. In the second case you refer to using a data cable, but what is not clear is what you are connecting the data cable to (an external car reader?). I would have normally assumed you meant a data cable to your tablet, but then you mention putting the card back into your tablet and noting the corruption/missing files and directories. Though I also prefer to remove the card from the tablet for transferring files, the alternative is connecting the tablet directly as a card reader/ext drive to your PC and transferring your media. Have you tried it that way? There are also wireless options (bluetooth or peer-to-peer wife file transfer apps). How is the card formatted (e.g., Fat 32) and did you let your tablet format the card or did you do it externally in your PC? A few more details might help diagnose where the problem is.

Perhaps your music files are corrupt?

my external SD card has now been unmounting automatically ever since the ueucmb3 update. I have not removed the card to reformat it since I never took it out of the tablet once I formatted it. Is anyone else having trouble with their external sd card unmounting for no reason or being read by the tablet?

Is 'ueucmb3' a standard firmware?

I have heard of problems with sandisk sccards were it can do as described in your question.
If this is the make of card contact them and get it replaced, if not try contacting the maker of your card n see if you can get it swapped.

Yes, it's sandisk but I never had this problem up until that update. Purchased the card in October and placed it in the tablet, never once having a problem and never having removed it until update, when the problem started. I'm not sure what the firmware update was for but I believe it was for all 8013 tablets. I couldn't find much information on that update.
