SD card not working after update

[AC Question]

I just got the mandatory S7 update from AT&T and now my SD card doesn't work. When it optimized my software and data during the update it appears to have moved everything that was on the card to the phone's drive. I put the sd card into my computer and was able to see everything on the drive, although it said there were corrupted files. When I agreed to let the computer fix the corruption (after backing it up) it said it couldn't because the card was write protected. I didn't know a micro SD card could be write protected. Weird problem. Anyone ever hear of anything like this? Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! An message like that for a microSD card often means the card itself is damaged or defective. Run chkdsk to look for bad sectors: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...guide-using-chkdsk-fix-corrupted-sd-card.html
