Android Central Question

hello, i wanted to ask that i just moved about 970 songs from my phone to sd card, but when i opened music app, about 300 songs were duplicate. I had total of 1270 songs now. Now the worst part is that i deleted each duplicate, but when i saw my total songs, they were 670. I deleted the duplicates, but idk why my 300 songs are also deleted, i got back my songs and now it still have this problem, ppleasee any solutions?

Welcome to Android Central! Were these duplicates in the exact same directory, or did they appear to be in different directories? What file manager were you using that showed the total number of files?

You probably deleted them from the SD card. You can use PhotoRec to get the card back. (But if all you "moved" to the card was links to the files, not the actual files, they're gone - there's no Android version of PhotoRec to recover files from internal storage. (And when you root the phone, which you have to do to recover deleted internal files, you completely wipe them, so there's nothing to recover.)

Depending on the music app you need to find the setting in the app that points to the song folders that no longer exist and uncheck them or purge the song catalog.
