SD card unmounting

I keep getting an error where the SD card is unmounting on its own out of no where. Noticed it more after the VZW 4.3 update. Any idea what could be causing this? Nothing new has been installed to cause this.

Its a very common problem with the S4 and there is no "just works" solution. Some say formatting the card in the phone works.

Funny thing... It was happening to me before on the previous firmware but every since the upgrade to 4.3, none of that has happened.

It's happened 3 times today alone. Would happen every now and then prior to today but only once before the 4.3 update since I owned then phone when it was first released.

You should back-up everything on your card as mine (Galaxy S4) started cycling through mounting and unmounting and now the card is cooked. Not recognized at all and if I put it in a SD Card carrier and insert into my PC it says it needs to be formatted...

Luckily I backed up the photos two days ago!

The same thing happened last year with my Galaxy S3.

This card was not a brand name card, just a class 10 card I had gotten on sale at Meritline.

I went with a no name 16gig class 6 card instead of name brand class 10 32 gig. I have not had a problem since with the card unmounting. Speculation has been rampant its a card speed or size issue. Maybe its both

Maybe... Mine is a brand name 32 GB Class 10 card. Along with SD Card unmounting, I also had the SIM card removed error. Ever since the update to 4.3, no problems. Still none now.
