SD Card useless now?

So apparently I didn't decrypt my SD card in my N10 before removing and placing in my N20U5G. The device could read the folder structure but not the files. Put it back in my N10, encrypted then decrypted. The N10 too is now only seeing the folder structures. No files.

Is my data gone for good??

What's confusing me is, once you took it and put it back into the n10. How are you able to encrypt it, again. It should have been able to read it and decrypt it. Sometime it'll take some time for the phone to realize it's the same sd card. That happened to me once. My original phone wouldn't read the file after I took it back from another phone.


I think you should decrypt it, and then take it out. Reset the phone (not factory anything, just a restart). Put the sd card back in after it boots up. And see if that works. If not, try restarting once more but with the sc card in the phone.
And see if you can view the file etc. If you can then it works and see if you can decrypt it. If you can't, but are still able to view the contents of the card, transfer it to internal memory.

Yes. Perhaps some user error. Not sure. But it may not have ever been secure. I honestly don't know at this point. I had been able to see the directory structure but couldn't find any files. Well went back in there this morning before I wiped the phone. Checked another directory and found some files. So who knows.....

Took my SD card out of my note 10+.
Stuck it in my note 20 ultra.
Worked fine.
