search button doesnt bring up google search

It brings up htcs search app which then searches everything on your phone and does not make suggestions. This happens even if you hit the menu button and only check search the web. This also still happens if you go into settings and only choose web. Any idea how to get it to bring up Google search and not the HTC app?

all you have to do is press the search button (next to were you input text) and it will google search for you

I understand that, but on my old phone, it would make suggestions as I typed as well.

well once you're on the google page, google will make suggestions for you as you type....

It was just more efficient on the HTC incredible as the search button took you to Google search not the lame HTC search.

No because I have been accustomed to hitting the search button on whatever screen I was on, not having to go to a screen with a widget.

agreed, before (on my dinc) it gave you the autocomplete for google search. OR give us the option to remap the button with another search app...that's all i really want. once a stable root option is available, i'll be deleting whatever app that is attached to the search button right now. along with a handful of other crappy apps preloaded by whoever.
